In this paper, we focus on the influence that service-learning (SL) methodology has on the development of youth purpose in students from two Catalan state universities. The aim of the study was to analyze whether participation in SL projects on the part of university students influenced the development of their purpose. A quasi-experimental method was used with repeated pre-test and post-test measures. The sample comprised 121 students participating in SL projects throughout one four-month university term. Among other findings, we detected slight/moderate changes over time in some of the elements of purpose analysed.
