Law and Voluntary Work
Law and Voluntary Work is a curricular subject of the Law Degree at the Lisbon Law Faculty of Universidade Católica Portuguesa. It is an optional subject worth 5 ECTS, available on the Summer Semester, for a limited number of students (currently 24, but hoping to grow).
During the first half of the semester students have classes with relevant portuguese people related to the Social Justice field and during the second, in groups of 4 they complete a number of hours of voluntary work within an institution.
During the year 2019, the groups worked with elderly people and people suffering from cerebral palsy. Students evaluation is based on a written test they take after the first part of the semester, institution and university judgment of their work and a final individual report they must deliver.
